Backyard #3

Hi there! Well I promise that this post was worth the wait. This was the biggest change we have made to the house yet.
We decided earlier in the year that there was just not enough privacy in our backyard. We felt that the whole neighbourhood was able to just look into our backyard and see us. Plus, we had to secure the backyard a little better for the dogs.

So we planned, designed, saved, got help from my Dad, purchased the lumber and started building a fence! Here are some of the pictures during the process:

The above is a picture of where our previous gate was, between the backyard and driveway. Here it is now:

Beautiful! Doesn't that look so much better? Gah, I love it! Now for the backyard. Here are some pictures of the old fences taken out:

Above is the backyard with all of the old fence around it. You can see where the shed is and where the deck is. Next are pictures as we move the shed and tear the old fences down.

It's getting there! Next my wonderful husband and the best Dad in the world hand dug the post holes and set the 5x5's with 3 feet of cement. We wanted this fence to last.

What a messy looking backyard! LOL. We decided on an 8 foot fence, with 2 feet of privacy lattice on the top. So the fence boards are only 6 feet tall, but the whole fence is 8 feet.

Next we put in the cross sections and build our lattice sections. we built them on the picnic table, then lifted then into place and nailed them in. This seemed to be the easiest way to do this.

Next were the fence boards. We had a nail gun for this, plus help from the nieghbours so we finished it off in a day. Now the after shots. We put the frame for the shed back in, then added leftover fence boards to match the fence.

Beautiful! Gorgeous! Amazing! Love it!

We have a rose of sharon beside the shed (you can see the little tree near the back corner). Once it blooms, it looks so good. Here is a better picture of the shed

As you can see we put a garden bed in beside it. The plants stayed in pot because I didn't want to trasplant them in the heat of summer. They are in the ground now for the winter.

Here are a few more pictures:

Last thing, the BBQ area got a facelift too. We put in better stones and set them with that special sand. Then my hubs built me a planter box.

Well that's it for now! Quite the transformation, eh? We lpove it, and I hope you guys do too!

Until next time.

K.
