Paper Ornaments

Hi everyone, hopefully you guys aren't sick of crafts yet. I have been busy as a bee (is that even a saying?) trying to get everything ready for Braxton's birthday as well as getting ready for Christmas. Lots of crafts going on over here (and panicked cleaning and paint touch-ups).

Today I want to share another easy craft you can do in a short amount of time, that would be a great addition to any Christmas tree. It doesn't hurt either that it is fairly inexpensive if you already have a paper puncher. If you do not have a decorative puncher, you can get them with a coupon to Micheals or Hobby Lobby for roughly $15.

I made some paper ornaments:

They look so nice on some white branches, but they would look amazing on an actual Christmas tree.

Your supplies:

You will need:
Cardstock (both sides should be the same colour)
Tape
Glue
String/Fishing Line
Decorative 1-1/2 inch or 2 inch punch (mine is a 1-1/2 inch scallop)

First, you will want to punch out a ton of circles. You will need six per ornament, so get cracking. You can decide if you want each ornament to be one colour, or multi-coloured, and ensure you have the correct number of each.

Next, you will want to fold each one in half. Make sure that as you fold them, they will match up when you put them together (see how they all look the same once folded):

After that, you will want to glue each side together, making sure you match the circles up (I had to match the scallops together). Leave one side open for you to tape your string or fishing line.

Let them dry for a little bit, and you will have some pretty decorations to hang where ever you would like.

Can you imagine how amazing these would look if you found some really pretty Christmas scrapbook paper? I am thinking about making some like that next year to add some kid-friendly items to the tree.

Add a little glitter, or let your kids go crazy and decorate the paper before you punch it and have a special ornament to keep for years to come.

Hopefully you guys can give this a try. Feel free to share if you do!

Kerby
