Velvet Pumpkin Tutorial

Hello everyone and happy Monday. I know, not the best day to say that but I always like to wish you guys a happy day. Maybe it makes a difference, who knows.

Back when this blog was even smaller than it is now (and it's still pretty small!) I shared these velvet pumpkins, but never did a tutorial. I am making more and decided that I should show you guys how to make these on your own.

velvet pumpkins

Hi there!

Today I want to share another craft that I did a bit ago that I first saw on Pinterest - velvet pumpkins. I loved the idea of having a décor item for fall that wouldn't rot on me and would be pet/kid friendly.

I didn't take pictured during or write a tutorial because there are so many out there. I followed this tutorial from Celebrate Creativity in All it's Forms.

It is explained very well and has great step by step pictures. After the first one, they will be a breeze! The hardest step will be finding pumpkin stems and drying them out! (To note, I collected them the year before and let them dry out for months)

quick pillows

Hi guys.

Today is just a quick post that I am sure everyone has done. Use pant legs to make pillows!
The hubby had a pair of cords that were toast, instead of tossing them I turned them into little accent pillows.

Now be kind, this was my first time using a sewing machine or making pillows! Please don't be fooled, I did not make the gorgeous front pillow - I wish I did though!

No, I took these worn old corduroy pants:

Chopped the legs off to make these beauties:
